Frank A. Farren, our June Ambassador of the Month, has been active in the Livonia Chamber for five years. He founded EnablePoint, a software development and website marketing firm, in 2001 with his coworker Hilary. Hilary and Frank A. Farren met in 1986 when they both worked for his Father’s software company, Techpoint. Hilary and Frank worked together at three different software companies over the subsequent years when a unique opportunity to write financial software for Ford Credit Corporation presented itself. Frank’s dream throughout his career was to run his own software business and follow in his father’s footsteps. This opportunity allowed him to realize that dream with the help of his partner.

Frank has been around computer software his entire life. He likes to joke that he met his first computer programmer in 1961. He has childhood memories of playing with the punch cardmachine at the Detroit Police Department while his father wrote and tested software on Saturdays. In 1994 he met an entrepreneur who hired him into the website marketing and development business. He has been working with Internet and networking software ever since.

EnablePoint is now well established in the community,providing software solutions and website services to the Livonia Chamber of Commerce, The City of Livonia, and the Livonia Police Department. This led to additional municipal software sales to 7 other local communities. In 2003 EnablePoint brought their alarm tracking software product to a National convention for Law Enforcement and now serves communities in Florida, Mississippi, Texas, and Illinois.
